Due to a long career that had always included a house as part of the job Tim & Heather had never lived in their own home. Having recently retired they had just bought their very first ‘own home’ and so were designing their very first new kitchen which they were very excited about.
The kitchen was very tired and appeared to be a fusion of two separate kitchens. Having been moved in around three months they had got the feel for the new home and wanted to make some layout changes, including re-locating the sink. Although making quite a strong statement and not necessarily their first choice the existing flooring covered a large amount of the ground floor and was still in very good condition so the decision was made to keep it and balance it with an equally strong kitchen colour.
As this was their ‘forever kitchen’ Tim & Heather were keen to make sure access into cabinets was as easy as possibly going forward, including making good use of all the available wall space. This meant accommodating the sloping ceiling section below the stairs and the soil pipe boxing in the corner opposite. Given our extensive standard cabinetry choice proved to be fairly straight forward in the end.
