Robin had fitted Marions previous kitchen himself around 30 years ago, both now retired, it was time for an big update, upgrade and to make the most of the latest storage and cooking innovations to future proof its functionality.
The kitchen area itself was quite small and we did (briefly) explore the possibility of removing the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. However, because of the various doors and windows in the dining area there were few gains to be had and actually, it would have made the kitchen as a whole, a lot less user friendly.
In an effort to make the room feel bigger, brighter and more open (even if it wasn’t) we chose a pale colour scheme across the whole design with our lightest (non-white, just!) painted door and sparkly worktops that would bounce both the natural and artificial lights around the room and doors with integrated handles to keep the fronts streamlined and uncluttered.
Like many of our customers Marion was keen to future proof her new cabinetry to ensure that access into cupboards was as easy as possible in the years to come. This meant drawers and clever pull-out mechanisms including i-Move wall cabinet pulldowns wherever possible. Ultimately, this quite small kitchen made the most of every bit of space available and ended up packing a very big, very efficient punch!
